Research Experience and Education
PhD candidate in high redshift observational astronomy using JWST
Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Karina I. Caputi.
Internship in modeling planetary formation and evolution .
My research was focused towards understanding protoplanetary disks in close binary systems. I mainly studied SVS13, compsed of two 13 AU dwarf protoplanetary disks and a spiral circumbinary disk (Ana K. Díaz-Rodríguez+22). Using self consistent radiative transport methods and fitting to observations, a better characterization of physical propeties was made.
This work was supported by funding from the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
Supervisors: Dr. Mayra Osorio and Dr. Guillem Anglada.
MSc in Astrophysics
Master thesis at Centro de Astrobiología (CAB-CSIC) working with James Webb Space Telescope NIRCam photometry of epoch of reionization galaxies.
Supervisors: Dr. Luis Colina Robledo and Dr. Javier Álvarez Márquez.
Undergraduate researcher in low surface brightness features of local group galaxies .
DUNES space mission goal is to better characterize the nature of dark matter by observing faint tidal structures of local group galaxies.
My work was to assist developing an observation planner/simulator taking into account all systematics, and trying to determine if sensibility of ~33 mag/arcsecˆ2 could be achieved.
I also characterized the optimal bands for simulataneous optical and NIR observations to maximize efficiency and to extract the most physical information.
This work was supported by funding from Collaboration Grants at University Departments, Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional.
Supervisors: Dr. Rafael Guzmán and Dr. Mariángeles Gómez.
BSc in Physics
Astrophysics oriented, with courses on stellar interiors, extragalactic astrophysics, observational astronomy, cosmology, and general relativity.
End of degree thesis on evolution of structural relations with cosmic time using data from CANDELS and 3D-HST.
